Where do you have to Go to Pass The AFOQT test?

There are 12 subsets, however, you will likely only receive five total scores for the whole AFOQT exam (see the five sections explained below). Rather than a numerical score, you will be told where you fall within a percentile – which ranges from 0 -99.

The minimum percentile you can earn will be dependent on the sort of career you wish to get when you serve as an Air Force officer.

Your score will be valid for the remainder of your lifetime. You may re-apply to take the AFOQT test, but only after six months have lapsed.

How is the AFOQT Test Scored?

Exam results are calculated according to seven composite scores, each made up of several subtests. Let’s take a look at key examples.

1. Pilot AFOQT composite

This composite assesses certain knowledge and skills that are deemed necessary for the successful execution of pilot training. The Pilot composite is made up of subtests that evaluate quantitative skills, the capacity to determine aircraft attitude using instruments, understanding of aeronautical ideas, and perceptual speed.

2. Navigator-Technical AFOQT composite

This composite evaluates certain abilities and knowledge judged necessary for the successful realization of navigator training. The Navigator-Technical composite has some subtests in common with the Pilot composite. However, measures of an ability to ascertain aircraft attitude and understanding of aeronautical ideas are not included in the Navigator-Technical composite. Nevertheless, some subtests are added including, assessing verbal aptitude, some spatial skills, perceptual speed, and understanding of general science.

3. Academic Aptitude AFOQT composite

The Academic Aptitude composite evaluates a test-taker’s quantitative and verbal abilities. This composite combines all subtests that form the Verbal and Quantitative composites. The Academic Aptitude score is made up of the Verbal Analogies, Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Math Knowledge subtests.

4. Verbal AFOQT composite

The Verbal measures a test-taker’s verbal knowledge and comprehension. This composite has subtests which measure the candidate’s ability to find a connection between words, reason, and form inferences. There are three subtests that make up the Verbal score: Word Knowledge, Reading Comprehension, and Verbal Analogies.

5. Quantitative AFOQT composite

This composite assesses a test taker’s quantitative skills and knowledge. The Quantitative has subsets that measure a candidate’s understanding and capacity to reason in relation to arithmetic relationships. They also measure how a candidate applies formulas, mathematical concepts, and relationships. The subtests used to make up your Quantitative score include Math Knowledge and Arithmetic Reasoning.

How many Times can I Take the AFOQT Test?

In most cases, test-takers only get two chances to pass the AFOQT. However, in some circumstances, a waiver can be granted to give individuals additional attempts. The test also comes with an extended waiting period between retakes. A test-taker must wait for a total of 150 days after the first testing attempt before they can resit the AFOQT.
